Ride along with Molly Fisher (contest winner) as she rides her mare, Dox Chicka Reb at the Glacier Chaser Classic Derby last year and has her run analyzed in slow motion by Ashley Nelson Schafer. We explore an issue that so many of us have struggled with at times, riding our horses square and deep enough into the pocket to prevent our horses from dropping their shoulder in anticipation of the turn.
"None of us ride perfect every time. But if we can train our horses in a way that allows us to make mistakes but still have effective turns, it is very helpful." Ashley Nelson Schafer / Schafer Performance Horses
Molly Fisher ---> "This is a video of this mare last summer at her first Derby. She was out the year before because of a weak spot in her left knee which we did and IRAP on. She has a lot of heart, is quick, and is really sensitive. She tends to be a nervous horse, and I use Oxy-Gen Inc. products to help with that. I would like to build her confidence and help her build skills to use her body safely. I also have done a lot of mental work myself to improve but I am really interested in improving myself in that way."
"If you ride your white horse like the wind and if what you see is what you get, well then, we should be friends." Miranda Lambert
